I have had my shochwave about two weeks and i broke the pull start once and had an old pull start from my RC10GT. i took it of so i could bump start it. well after about 1 hour rebuilding the pull start for the shockwave and a little bit of modifying i got the bigger rope to fit the casing of the pull start case. five pulls and the ________ thing snaps off about 3 inch's from the top. well forget pull start i need another way to start my motor. i was on e-bay and saw the toque start and roto start methods. I was reading in the forum from redcat and came across your site and here i am the third member cool man. anyway can you help me with what i should do. thanks lee

I'm not sure why you are breaking the ropes, the roto/power starters work really well and yes the pulling and breaking ropes problem will go away.

My first RC car and I'm just finishing up my first gallon of nitro on my Hurricane XP - to be honest, tired of the pull cord.
What are the options for eliminating the pull start? I see the "Starter Box" and the "Power Starter" listed on the accessories parts list on the RUFaster website. Will either of these work on my XP and what other parts need to be purchased in order for the non pull start to work? Are these two items the same as the torque starter and roto starter...Yes, I am a newby. Will all or both of the items I described work out in the field (battery power)? The XP has an M28 engine, will all starters work with this engine?
I've seen online videos where owners are starting there buggy engines with a cordless drill (with attachment) - what are these guys using?
Any and all advice is welcome, direct me to a link describing all of the above would be much appreciated.
Since I'm here, can someone advise on a quality glow plug igniter (the one that came with my buggy doesn't hold a charge)? Thanks in advance for your replies.

They are using a quick start wand, with there drills. The drills must be in reverse for it to work. I have also seen others take the one way bairing and put it into a socket and use a 1/4inch drive extension with that.
